The State of Washington does not have a white list and by law the brokers are responsible for placing with eligible carriers.
As a service to our brokers and the Office of the Insurance Commissioner we request financials from carriers to verify policyholder surplus eligibility and then add the carrier to our list so brokers can file policies.
List of Active Carriers
Inclusion on this list does not indicate that the carrier meets the requirement as an appropriate insurer. The Surplus Line Broker is solely responsible for determining the qualifications of each carrier. Being on this list means the carrier is recognized by the Surplus Line Association of Washington and filings by brokers for the carrier will be accepted for examination.
