Top 3 Questions This Month

1) How do I update my firm’s contact information?

Log into the Washington Filing Portal and navigate to your firm’s profile. From there, update your address, phone number, and primary contact information.

2) When are membership fees due and what is the cost?

Annual membership fee is $100 and renews September 1. Dues are not prorated. Firms joining after March 1 will not be charged until the September 1 renewal. Fees are due within 30 days of invoice.

3) How do I add a Surplus Line Broker if my firm is already a member?

Brokers can be added through the Washington Filing Portal by navigating to the “Settings” screen. After the Broker Membership Agreement has been completed, the broker will be authorized to file transactions on behalf of your firm.

To complete the Broker Membership Agreement, the broker must have both their Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner (WAOIC) broker license number and the brokerage firm’s WAOIC license number available. When a broker is added through the Washington Filing Portal, the brokerage firm’s information will be automatically pre-populated on the form.
